BESWOON Beer Garden

BESWOON 2017 is less than a month away and we are really looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday, April 8th, 2017. Traditionally, we have had three room themes, but this year we are taking things up a notch and adding in another room. We are excited to announce our fourth room theme: Beer Garden!

For our Beer Garden room, we are grabbing inspiration from PANTONE’s color of the year: GREENERY! You may be wondering what is PANTONE’s color of the year? It is a symbolic color selection which represents the mood and attitude of our global culture. Greenery is a fresh and zesty-yellow green shade that represents the first days of spring when nature beings to revive, restore and renew. It also represents the yearn we feel to take a break from modern life to reconnect with nature and one another.

Come join us in our revitalizing Beer Garden room and immerse yourself back into nature while mingling with the best wedding creatives in New England. Unplug and have some fun!

Thompson’s Point: Live. Work. Laugh. Play.

Thompson’s Point sits on a once over-looked piece of land in Portland, Maine and is developing into a place to: Live, Work, Laugh and Play.

Cellardoor at The Point

The point is home to many wonderful businesses such as Cellardoor at The Point, Bissell Brothers, State Theater and The Rink at Thompson’s Point. Whether you want to go wine tasting, ice-skating or catch a concert – you can do it all at Thompson’s Point.

The land is about the size of the Old Port and the developer, Chris Thompson, is currently breaking ground on the newest addition to the point.  A 27,000 square foot venue called, “The Brick South Event Center” will be available in March. The new facility will be kept as rustic as possible, hold 2,500 people, have a bar, commercial kitchen and a DIY element. We are looking forward to seeing the finished product, as well as, the exciting expansion of Thompson’s Point.

We are grateful to be part of such an innovative and creative community. Thank-you Thompson’s Point for hosting and sponsoring BESWOON 2017.

Ultimate Herb Holiday DIY

Rosemary. It smells, looks and tastes fabulous! Plus, it has wonderful health benefits such as rejuvenating hair and skin, it acts as a mild diuretic and reduces headaches. Sounds like the perfect herb to help us through the hustle and bustle of the holidays. It is literally the ultimate herb in this DIY project.

We all have holiday parties sneaking up on us and it is always challenging to come up with a quick and unique gift. Our go-to gift is typically a bottle of wine which we usually end up drinking (how thoughtful, we know). Whether you’re attending a holiday gathering, need a gift for the in-laws, planning a winter wedding, attending a baby shower and/or possibly all of the above (yikes) – we are here to help.

The best part of this DIY is you can take what you need from it. Everything goes together, but is equally as wonderful by itself. If you are a winter bride and love the rosemary sea salt favors then you can stop there. If you are headed over to grandma’s for the holidays then you could make her the rosemary sea salt, the rosemary infused olive oil and print out the rosemary bread recipe. Now, if you are an over-achiever, and really trying to impress those in-laws, you could make the sea salt, olive oil and bread! Just be prepared for non stop praise and start thinking about what you will bring next year to top this one. Click on the links below and you will be on your way to the ULTIMATE HERB HOLIDAY DIY!

5 Tips – Writing Your Own Wedding Ceremony

TIP 1. SEARCH ONLINE FOR INSPIRATION & GATHER MATERIALS: Read a variety of wedding ceremonies and see what catches your eye! Pinterest is a great place to start and you can create a custom (and even private) ceremony board.

TIP 2. PRINT OUT EVERYTHING YOU SAVED: Spend a morning with your partner and sift through all of the inspiration gathered. Take messy notes, change words, highlight and talk about the parts you each love. This may seem overwhelming and slightly chaotic, but trust the process and have fun with it.

TIP 3. LENGTH & TONE: Now that you both have reviewed your ceremony inspiration – what type of material are you and your partner drawn to? Long winded paragraphs? Witty jargon or romantic language? Make sure to talk about the ideal length and tone of your ceremony.15282094_10103475952689799_731204248_n

TIP 4. PICK A READING: After deciding the length and tone of your ceremony this is the perfect time to pick a reading. Not sure what to pick? Choose a quote or a poem that embodies your relationship or ask a close family member to choose a few options.

TIP 5. ORGANIZE, OUTLINE, & WRITE: Now you are ready to organize, outline and write! Do not be scared – you are ready! Feel free to be creative with the progression of your ceremony, but here is a general outline: Introduction, Personal Introduction, Foundation of Marriage, Reading, Vows, Hand Blessing, Exchange of Rings, Closing Words/The Kiss and Announcement. Happy writing! XO
